<div class="ag-choice">
<ul>
<li>現在は変わった過去の習慣・行動・状態：<code>used to</code></li>
<li>すでに慣れている状態：<code>be used to</code></li>
<li>慣れていく途中や変化：<code>get used to</code></li>
</ul>
</div>
<code>used to</code>の後ろは動詞原形です。<code>be used to</code>と<code>get used to</code>の後ろには、名詞、代名詞、動詞の<code>-ing</code>形を置きます。</p>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>I used to drive to work.</strong><br />以前は車で通勤していました。</p>
<p><strong>I am used to driving to work.</strong><br />車で通勤することに慣れています。</p>
</div>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>We used to visit our grandparents every summer.</strong><br />私たちは以前、毎年夏に祖父母を訪ねていました。</p>
<p><strong>This building used to be a school.</strong><br />この建物は以前、学校でした。</p>
</div>
<div class="ag-box ag-box--blue">
<ul>
<li>I used to live there.</li>
<li>She used to live there.</li>
<li>They used to live there.</li>
</ul>
</div>
<p>「以前は」の意味で<code>be used to</code>とはしません。<code>She was used to live there.</code>ではなく、<code>She used to live there.</code>です。</p>
<h2><span id="toc3">be used toの後ろは名詞・代名詞・ing形で、「慣れている」を表す</span></h2>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>I am used to the cold.</strong><br />私は寒さに慣れています。</p>
<p><strong>She is used to it.</strong><br />彼女はそれに慣れています。</p>
<p><strong>We are used to working from home.</strong><br />私たちは在宅勤務に慣れています。</p>
</div>
<p><code>the cold</code>は名詞、<code>it</code>は代名詞、<code>working</code>は動詞の<code>-ing</code>形です。慣れている対象が行動なら、<code>be used to work</code>ではなく<code>be used to working</code>とします。</p>
<div class="ag-box ag-box--green">
<ul>
<li>I <strong>am</strong> used to the noise.</li>
<li>She <strong>is</strong> used to the noise.</li>
<li>They <strong>are</strong> used to the noise.</li>
</ul>
</div>
<p>この<code>be</code>があるかどうかは、<code>used to</code>と見分ける手掛かりになります。</p>
<h2><span id="toc4">get used toは「慣れていく」変化で、後ろの形はbe used toと同じ</span></h2>
<p><code>get used to</code>は、最初は慣れていなかったものが、次第に普通に感じられるようになる過程を表します。</p>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>I am getting used to my new job.</strong><br />新しい仕事にだんだん慣れてきています。</p>
<p><strong>You will get used to waking up early.</strong><br />早起きにも慣れるでしょう。</p>
</div>
<p>後ろの形は<code>be used to</code>と同じです。 </p>
<div class="ag-box ag-box--blue">
<ul>
<li>get used to the weather</li>
<li>get used to it</li>
<li>get used to speaking English</li>
</ul>
</div>
<p><code>be used to</code>は慣れている状態、<code>get used to</code>は慣れていく変化です。</p>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>I am used to the schedule.</strong><br />その予定に慣れています。</p>
<p><strong>I am getting used to the schedule.</strong><br />その予定に慣れてきています。</p>
</div>
<p><code>be used to</code>と<code>get used to</code>は、過去・現在・未来について使えます。時間を表すのは<code>used</code>ではなく、前の<code>be</code>や<code>get</code>の形です。</p>

<tr>
<td><code>I will get used to working nights.</code></td>

</table>
<p><code>used to + 動詞原形</code>は過去だけを表します。一方、<code>be used to</code>と<code>get used to</code>は、前の動詞を変えることで時間を変えられます。</p>
<h2><span id="toc6">didn&#8217;t use toとDid &#8230; use to?
<p><code>used to</code>を<code>did</code>で否定文・疑問文にすると、<code>used</code>ではなく<code>use</code>を使います。</p>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>I didn&#8217;t use to drink coffee.</strong><br />以前はコーヒーを飲みませんでした。</p>
<p><strong>Did you use to play tennis?</strong><br />以前はテニスをしていましたか。</p>

<li>否定文：<code>I didn't use to walk to school.</code></li>
<li>疑問文：<code>Did you use to walk to school?</code></li>
</ul>
</div>
<h2><span id="toc7">I used to workとI&#8217;m used to workingを同じ場面で比べる</span></h2>

<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>I am getting used to working nights.</strong><br />夜勤に慣れてきています。</p>

<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>She said that she was tired.</strong><br />彼女は疲れたと言いました。</p>
<p><strong>She told me that she was tired.</strong><br />彼女は私に、疲れたと伝えました。</p>
</div>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>I speak English at work.</strong><br />私は仕事で英語を話します。</p>
<p><strong>I talked to Emi after work.</strong><br />私は仕事のあと、エミと話しました。</p>
</div>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>He said to me, “Be careful.”</strong><br />彼は私に「気をつけて」と言いました。</p>
</div>
<p><code>He said me ...</code>とはしません。 </p>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>He said that the store was closed.</strong><br />彼は、その店は閉まっていると言いました。</p>

<li><strong>tell a lie</strong>：うそをつく</li>
<li><strong>tell a joke</strong>：冗談を言う</li>
<li><strong>tell a story</strong>：物語を話す</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>She said, “Please wait here.”</strong><br />彼女は「ここで待ってください」と言いました。</p>
</div>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>She told me to wait there.</strong><br />彼女は私に、そこで待つように言いました。</p>
</div>
<div class="ag-choice">
<ul>
<li>誰かへの指示として伝える：<code>tell + 人 + to do</code></li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>She speaks French and English.</strong><br />彼女はフランス語と英語を話します。</p>
</div>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>I talked to Ken about the schedule.</strong><br />私はケンと予定について話しました。</p>
</div>
<div class="ag-example">
<p><strong>I talked to my friend about the movie.</strong><br />私は友人とその映画について話しました。</p>
</div>
たとえば、相手に話があると切り出す<code>I need to speak to you.</code>は、<code>I need to talk to you.</code>より改まった、または深刻な印象になる場合があります。</p>
<div class="ag-box ag-box--blue">
<ul>
<li><strong>speak to a customer</strong></li>
<li><strong>talk to a friend</strong></li>
<li><strong>speak with the manager</strong></li>
